Hola

So let's talk about guitar pedals for a sec. I love the idea of them, I enjoy using them even, but they don't really work for me when I'm onstage. I keep trying to get into them, but when it comes to dealing with them live, I've never been comfortable with them.
On the latest record, I borrowed some Electro-Harmonix pedals from some friends, and ended up using the Memory Man Deluxe and a Small Stone several times each. I also tried some fuzz pedals, the Big Muff Pi and a Z. Vex Fuzz Factory. Wanting to re-create the sounds live, I bought the Memory Man and the Small Stone pedals and brought them out on the road, along with an Electro-Harmonix LPB 2ube (this is not an effect but a line- level pre-amp, I tried using it in some of the older songs to give my solos a little more gain when I was using the SG only) and a Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner.
This rig worked out alright, but while we were on the last tour in Europe, I felt that my sustain was suffering, as well as my tone. I finally decided to try out my Les Paul again, and to get rid of ALL of the pedals (except for the tuner, of course), and I was very pleased with the results. Ever since then (the first show with the Les Paul was in Germany I believe?) I've been using the Les Paul through most of the show, the SG for the songs I think need it most, like Fall Behind Me, You Make Me Hot and It's So Hard, sometimes Revolver as well. I've also banned the pedals. They're not hiding out somewhere, they're not even here on the tour. They're resting somewhere in a storage space I believe. Who's to say if I'll ever try them out again? I enjoy using them, I really do. I guess I just like keeping things simple, and they were really getting in the way of the natural tone of both the Paul and the SG.
I still use both the Marshall JCM 2000 and the Fender Vibrolux onstage, I really like the way the two sound together. Anyway, hope there was some useful info in here!
Bueno, espero haberte resuelto la duda
